Save-the-Date: 5th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation (24-25 June 2026, Centre for Business Law and Practice, University of Leeds School of Law, Leeds)

On Wednesday-Thursday, 24-25 June 2026, the Centre for Business Law and Practice at the University of Leeds School of Law, Leeds, UK will host the 5th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation (‘Conference’). Previous conferences in this series were hosted by the University College London, the London School of Economics, Durham Law School, and City St George’s, University of London.

The 2026 Conference will feature internationally outstanding scholars, policymakers, regulators as well as rising stars in banking and financial services law and practitioners in the field from the UK, Ireland and beyond. The Conference will feature various keynote speakers and a list of panels on recent legal and regulatory developments in the field, encouraging lively debates and bringing together a wide range of perspectives.

This conference series, focused on banking and financial law, was launched by Federico Lupo-Pasini (Durham University) and Andreas Kokkinis (Birmingham University) four years ago, in 2022. Joining them, Clara Martins Pereira (Durham University) and Virág Blazsek (University of Leeds) as Co-convenors of The Banking and Financial Services Law Section of the Society of Legal Scholars and Ilias Kapsis (City St George’s, University of London—the host of the 2025 Conference in this series), are delighted to team up to make next year’s Conference happen. A Call for Papers with paper submission instructions will be published in December 2025. Previous conferences in this series included panels on Corporate Governance, FinTech, Sustainable Finance, and Financial Regulation.

Virág Blazsek is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial, Corporate and Banking Law at the University of Leeds School of Law.

Clara Martins Pereira is an Associate Professor of Financial Law at Durham University Law School.

Professor Federico Lupo-Pasini, Durham University Law School.

Dr Andreas Kokkinis is an Associate Professor at Birmingham University Law School.

Dr Ilias Kapsis is a Senior Lecturer at The City Law School, City St George’s, University of London.
