Registration and Agenda for the 4th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation (Thursday, 3 July 2025, City Law School, City St George’s, University of London)

On Thursday, 3 July 2025, the City Law School, City St George’s, University of London, will host the 4th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation (Conference). This year’s event is designed to support PhD students and early-career researchers with an interest in Financial Law and Regulation and to gather influential scholars and practitioners in the field from the UK and Ireland. The Conference delegates will present new research and discuss the recent legal and regulatory developments in the field. The Conference will encourage lively debate and will bring together a wide range of perspectives, including from regulators and industry.
The conference series focused on banking and financial law was launched by Federico Lupo-Pasini (Durham University) and Andreas Kokkinis (Birmingham University) four years ago, in 2022. Joining them, Clara Martins Pereira (Durham University) and Virág Blazsek (University of Leeds) as Co-convenors of The Banking and Financial Services Law Section of the Society of Legal Scholars and Ilias Kapsis (City St George’s, University of London), on behalf of this year’s host institution, were delighted to team up to make this year’s conference happen. The Programme, which includes five panels on Corporate Governance, FinTech I-II, Sustainable Finance, and Financial Regulation. Richard Ashcroft, Executive Dean of City Law School will be delivering the opening remarks followed by a stellar list of speakers and panel chairs. Previous conferences in this series were hosted by the University College London, the London School of Economics, and Durham Law School.
Registration for the Conference is now open and it is on first come basis due to room limitations. Attendance will be free of charge. The event has been supported by the Banking and Financial Services Law Section of the Society of Legal Scholars and the City Law School.
Virág Blazsek is Lecturer in Commercial, Corporate and Banking Law at the University of Leeds School of Law.
Clara Martins Pereira is an Associate Professor of Financial Law at Durham University School of Law.
