The Oxford Business Law Blog (OBLB) Celebrates its First Anniversary

Today, the Oxford Business Law Blog (OBLB) marks its first anniversary. Last year, we set out to create a leading and truly international forum for the exchange of ideas and reporting of new developments in business law. Since then, we have published over 530 posts from academics and practitioners from across the world, and have reached more than 125 thousand unique reads from visitors coming from 153 countries.

The OBLB is now a firmly entrenched part of the Oxford Law Faculty’s Business Law Hub. As a testament to the engagement of our faculty and students, we are proud to introduce a new logo designed by Fernando Sam Chec, an alumnus (2015-2016) of the Master in Law and Finance. Mindful of the unique traditions of Oxford, the logo embodies the innovation at the heart of our blog.

To celebrate submissions created especially for publication on the OBLB, we will publish an SSRN article compiling the ten most-read opinion pieces as of today. We are also pleased to announce the ten most-read current awareness pieces:

  1. The New Market Abuse Regime: The Framework So Far”, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton
  2. Blockchain – Considering the Regulatory Horizon”, Eversheds
  3. Article 50 Notification – in the Courts and in Parliament”, Allen & Overy
  4. UK Consumer Law in the Wake of the EU Referendum”, Taylor Wessing
  5. The New European Union Market Abuse Regulation”, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz
  6. Smart Contracts: The Next Frontier?”, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
  7. EU Market Abuse Regulation: What Must Listed Companies Do Now?”, Travers Smith
  8. Brexit and Financial Services: 10 Things You Should Know”, Norton Rose Fulbright
  9. English Governing Law Clauses and English Jurisdiction Clauses: Should Commercial Parties Change Their Approach?”, Allen & Overy
  10. Cross-Border M&A – 2017 Checklist for Successful Acquisitions in the United States”, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz

To make the OBLB as useful a forum as possible, we have launched a survey to hear directly from our readers on how we can improve their experience.

The OBLB is edited by Luca Enriques, Jennifer Payne, Kristin van Zwieten and Horst Eidenmüller, with associate editors Clara Martins Pereira, Konstantinos Sidiropoulos, Antonios Chatzivasileiadis and Thom Wetzer. Over the past year, Philine Scheer and Martin Bengtzen have also acted as associate editors.

We would like to thank our contributors and ever-growing readership, as well as our sponsor Travers Smith, for their support and engagement. We look forward to another year of interesting contributions and fascinating discussions.
