The World Bank has published Doing Business 2016, the 13th entry in a series of annual reports comparing business regulation in 189 economies. The regulations addressed in this year’s publication span across the following areas: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and resolving insolvency.

Doing Business 2016 also ranks economies on their overall ease of doing business, and offers an analysis of how reforms to business regulations have affected the business environments of different economies.

The Doing Business indicators are used by more than 60 economies around the world to shape reform agendas, and to monitor improvements on the ground.
