Here at Border Criminologies, many of the associated researchers are women. Many of us have been intellectually and personally shaped by feminist scholarship and practice, which emphasises collaborative work. As part of that, not only do members write about women’s experiences of border control, but they also actively work alongside women who are actively navigating border control and its intersections with criminal justice. They may do this as legal advocates, or as psychologists, or simply as members of community organising.
Over the next year, we hope to show case people’s efforts. We start today, for International Women’s Day, with a recent interview Mary Bosworth videoed with Vicky Canning, to learn more about Vicky’s work.

Please contact us if you would like to contribute a short video or blog about your research on women and border control.
