The most recent report by UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, François Crépeau, finds a series of problems in the management of Europe’s external borders. Notwithstanding some examples of good practice and good intentions, he identifies a number of worrying trends in immigration detention conditions. The report and related material may be found here.
Mr Crépeau will be speaking about his work at the Oxford Human Rights Hub this Friday, May 3rd 2013. The seminar, entitled ‘Migration detention policies as an obstacle to the realisation of migrants’ human rights‘, will take place at 1:00pm at the University of Oxford SCR Law Faculty. Drs Mary Bosworth and Cathryn Costello are the respondents.
