Migration Control and Criminal Justice

Mary Bosworth and Hindpal Singh Bhui, Inspection team leader at HM Inspectorate of Prisons and a member of the Centre for Criminology Advisory board are pleased to announce the publication of a special issue of the Prison Service Journal 'Migration, Nationality and Detention.'

The special issue explores the growing interconnection between immigration control and criminal justice in the UK, Australia, Germany and Holland. Together, the essays not only raise tough questions about state practices but demonstrate the salience of migration control for criminology today.  A number of related research projects are underway at the Centre for Criminology, grouped under the research stream 'Migration, Justice and Citizenship.'
