Four members of the Centre for Criminology participated in a public seminar on 9 November examining how ideas about democracy relate to public policing.  Held in the run-up to the election of Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) in England and Wales, this was the second in a series of seminars organized by the Centre's Police and Policing Research Discussion Group in conjunction with members of Thames Valley Police. Ben Bradford and Chris Giacomantonio provided panel papers during the morning session, and Ian Loader and Matthew Davies participated in a debate examining the potential futures of the PCC initiative.  More details about the event can be found here.
