The OUCLJ is pleased to announce the publication of its issue 18(1). Its articles, as always, cover a variety of topics spanning the Commonwealth. We are particularly pleased to be publishing the text of a lecture which was delivered by one of our patrons, Justice Edwin Cameron of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, and was organised by one of the OUCLJ's first editors, Justice James Edelman, now of the High Court of Australia.
The articles appearing in issue 18(1) are:
- Saloni Khanderia, 'Indian private international law vis-à-vis party autonomy in the choice of law'
- Shamnad Basheer, 'Trumping TRIPS: Indian patent proficiency and the evolution of an evergreening enigma'
- Kumaralingam Amirthalingam, 'The public prosecutor and sentencing: drug trafficking and the death penalty in Singapore'
The abovementioned lecture is:
- Edwin Cameron, 'Judges, justice, and public power: the constitution and the rule of law in South Africa'
Sadly this will be the final issue of the Journal published under the stewardship of our outgoing General Editor, Tobias Lutzi. For the next issue the Journal will welcome Jessica Allen to the Editorial Board.
